Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which J. Lawrie & Sons (Jaffy’s) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the Jaffy’s Smokehouse website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by J. Lawrie & Sons (Jaffy’s)

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, place an order, subscribe to the newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilised and other similar information.

Web browser cookies

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

We may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

    Information you provide helps us respond to your customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

Our Site is in compliance with PCI vulnerability standards in order to create as secure of an environment as possible for Users.

Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes provided that you have given us your permission.

Third party websites

Users may find advertising or other content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.

Changes to this privacy policy

J. Lawrie & Sons (Jaffy’s) has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Delivery Policy

Here at J. Lawrie & Sons (Jaffy’s) we pride ourselves on excellent customer service.

We know that you don’t want to wait days for your order to arrive. That’s why we send every order within the UK Mainland by Parcel Force24or Royal Mail24. Which means that, all being well, you should receive your parcel the following working day after it has been despatched or within 3 days.

However, although we promise to despatch your order quickly, it should be remembered that delivery is not guaranteed within this timescale and parcels can occasionally take longer to reach their destinations. Parcels sent to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, the Channel Islands, certain parts of Scotland  will usually take a little longer to arrive.

Please note that our dispatch days are;- Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  If you place an order on a Thursday or later it will be dispatched on the following Monday.

How will my parcel be sent UK mainland?

Based upon the weight of your item(s) we have two options for your postage either Royalmail24 or Parcelforce24. Parcels are normally delivered between 9am – 6pm, Mon – Friday.

Carriage is charged at £5.00 on deliveries.  This rate applies for each, individual address.

Please leave instructions as to where to leave your parcel if you are not likely to be in (porch, garage) or have your parcel posted to a neighbour or your work address.

Should the item not arrive within this time scale please contact your local sorting office to ensure that they are not holding the item for you. Please note that Royal Mail do not class an item missing until 15 working days has passed as they say it can still be delivered until this time. Replacements for undelivered orders won’t be possible until after this time.

As our products are perishable and require refrigeration on arrival, we reserve the right to alter a dispatch date to ensure the safe arrival of your order. (e.g. to close to weekend, bank holiday or circumstances out with our control).

Order Confirmation

You will receive an email order confirmation when you place your order.  If you do not receive one it is possible that we have not received your order.  Please call us on 01687 462222

How will I know when my order has been dispatched?

When your order has been dispatched you will receive an e-mail notification advising of  this.

Help! I haven’t received my parcel, what should I do?

Contact us – we will do anything we can to help. If an item sent by Royal Mail 24 has not been received it can often be found at the local sorting office awaiting collection. If not, the Royal Mail has a specific procedure that we can follow in the event of a missing parcel.

If your order has been dispatched with ParcelForce24 then we can track and trace it using their online system.

 

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Returns and Non Delivery

Occasionally some parcels can arrive late, not be delivered or be damaged on arrival. If this happens please contact us as soon as possible.  We cannot be held responsible for parcels if customers have given us incorrect or incomplete addresses.

Changing or cancelling an order

If you would like to amend your order and the order has not been dispatched we will happily take payment of the extra items and send all items out together. If your order has already been dispatched we cannot add anymore items and you will be required to place an additional order. If you wish to cancel an order or change the delivery date/address please get in touch as soon as possible. Once your order has been dispatched it is to late to cancel.

Substitution

We reserve the right to substitute items for items of a similar or greater value item on the rare occasion that a product is not available.
